Welcome!
Welcome to my website! I'm Gunnar Sjur Ringøen, a musician, composer, and teacher with a passion for the Hammond organ. The Hammond organ is an iconic analog instrument from the 1930s to 1970s,with a warm and rich sound that has captivated audiences for decades. I've spent years honing my skills on this instrument, exploring its many nuances and possibilities. One of the things I love most about the Hammond organ is the ability to utilize both the keyboard manuals and bass pedals, creating a full, rich sound. I'm constantly experimenting with new techniques and exploring different sounds to create a unique and dynamic musical experience. In addition to my focus on the Hammond organ, I've earned bachelor's and master's degrees in rhythmical music from SDMK Esbjerg, as well as a Contemporary Creative Artist degree, which is a genre-neutral education. This training has given me a strong foundation in music theory, as well as the ability to collaborate with musicians from a wide range of genres. I've had the opportunity to perform with various groups in Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Baltic countries, and England. I'm a member of exciting groups:Flat Bop, a classic Hammond organ jazz trio; and Vildspil, a fusion of classical, folk music, and jazz. Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue exploring new sounds and techniques on the Hammond organ, and collaborating with other musicians to create unique and memorable music experiences. If you have any questions or collaboration opportunities, please don't hesitate to get in touch. You can also check out my CV for more information on my background and qualifications, as well as my Instagram and Facebook for updates on my latest activities. Thanks for visiting my website, and I hope you enjoy exploring my music journey!
